A GUIDE TO PROVIDING DATA SECURELY

SECURITY AND PRIVACY

Sharing personal information online has become increasingly common in today’s digital era. However, many users understandably hesitate to provide their data. In this article, we will explore the importance of secure data management and offer transparent insights into how our company, comprising three leading brands of high-end products, addresses this sensitive topic.

Mastertent®, Ecotent®, and Ruku1952®

3 Brands - 1 Company

Let’s start by introducing our three brands: Mastertent®, Ecotent®, and RUKU1952®. All three brands are registered trademarks that market different product lines. However, the brands are run by the same employees, consultants, and production facilities in Europe, all belonging to the Zingerle Group, a manufacturer since 1948. We made the decision to create three different brands as they each possess distinct personalities and unique histories that we intend to express to the fullest. That being said, the individuals involved in management and production are the same.
All data provided by our customers and prospects are handled with utmost confidentiality by the Zingerle Group, as we’ll explain shortly.

Why do we ask for information before sending a quote?

Why We Need Information to Provide Exceptional Customer Service

Our commitment to data security stems from our desire to provide a personalised service and an unparalleled shopping experience. Mastertent® and Ecotent®, our two brands without e-commerce platforms, rely on certain online data to generate accurate quotes and provide tailored services. Customisation and precise customer service require detailed information, solely aimed at improving your experience, without any obligation, of course.

Our customers appreciate the service provided by our dedicated representatives before, during, and after making a purchase. In Italy, for example, we have 16 experts available to cater to customers’ needs across various regions, whether online, over the phone, via scheduled visits, or at our showrooms. Those genuinely interested in our premium products appreciate talking to an expert about their needs and product specifications without any commitment. This ensures they make an informed decision, understanding the product’s unique characteristics and quality compared to other options on the market. Our inquiry process is free and non-binding, and we are pleased to invest time in educating our customers about the difference between inferior products from non-EU manufacturers and our premium, long-lasting products crafted by industry experts in Italy.

User privacy is our top priority. We deeply value the trust that people place in us when they share their personal information, and we ensure that we use it ethically and responsibly. At the Zingerle Group, we only ask for the data we need to deliver our services as professionally and efficiently as possible. We are not interested in selling the data we collect to third parties. As manufacturers and vendors of pop-up tents, tables, and benches, possessing data alone does not contribute to our business growth. On the contrary, it requires additional care and effort to ensure its security. Therefore, we handle data solely to streamline our services and assist our customers in the best possible way.

Data Security is Our Top Priority

Data security is at the heart of everything we do. We understand our customers' concerns and are committed to ensuring that any information provided is handled with utmost care and discretion. Transparency is fundamental to our approach, and we are committed to complying with all European Union data protection guidelines.

What is personal data?

To some, the term “personal data” may seem abstract, but it is important to understand its meaning. Personal data refers to information that directly or indirectly identifies a person. This includes your name, address, phone number, email address, and can even extend to information such as your shopping habits, online behaviours, and more.

Types of Personal Data

Personal data can be divided into different categories based on the information that identifies a person. Here are some types of personal data defined by Article 4 of the GDPR:

  1. Identifying Data: data that directly identifies a person. Examples include name, email address, phone number, or home address.

  2. Specific Data: particularly sensitive information that may include race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, health information, biometric data, judicial data. These data are subject to stricter rules due to their sensitive nature.

  3. Anonymised data: personal information that is irreversibly deprived of any identifying elements and, for that very reason, not considered as personal data. An example of anonymised data are those used purely for statistical, historical or scientific purposes, disclosed publicly, but anonymously to respect the privacy of the data subject.

  4. Pseudonymous data: pseudonymous data are for all intents and purposes personal data, but the identifying elements are concealed by the use of alphanumeric strings or nicknames as part of a reversible process. Simply put, the person is difficult to identify using their data. For this very reason, reduced protection applies to pseudonymous data compared to personal data. The data owner must ensure adequate protection measures are in place to keep the decryption key secret.

What is the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)?

The GDPR, which stands for General Data Protection Regulation, is a European Union (EU) regulation that came into effect on 25 May 2018. Its main purpose is to protect people’s privacy and rights in relation to the processing of their personal data.

Here are some key points related to GDPR:

  1. Personal Data Protection: The GDPR establishes clear and binding principles on how personal data should be collected, processed, stored and shared. It applies to any organisation that processes the personal data of individuals within the EU, regardless of the organisation’s location.

  2. Rights of Data Subjects: The regulation gives individuals several rights regarding their personal data, including the right to access their data, correct it, delete it (the right to be forgotten), and object to its processing under certain circumstances.

  3. Explicit Consent: The GDPR requires organisations to obtain explicit consent from individuals before collecting or processing their personal data. In addition, consent must be easy to withdraw.

  4. Data Breach Notification: Organisations are required to notify regulators and data subjects in the event of data breaches that could pose risks to people's rights and freedoms.

  5. Accountability: Organisations must demonstrate compliance with the GDPR and take appropriate security measures to protect personal data.

  6. Data Protection Officer (DPO): In some circumstances, organisations must designate a DPO, a data protection officer, to ensure compliance and serve as a point of contact with regulators.

  7. Sanctions: The GDPR provides significant financial penalties for organisations that fail to comply with data protection rules, which highlights the importance of compliance.

The fundamental goal of the GDPR is to create an environment in which people can more effectively control the personal information they share and in which organisations are more accountable and transparent in their handling of that information.

Of course, Zingerle Group follows all regulations laid down by the GDPR for data processing to the letter.

When Is It Safe to Provide Data Online?

Providing data online can be safe, as long as you deal with trustworthy and transparent companies. Always look for signs of security such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and carefully read the company’s privacy policies. If your company complies with regulations and adopts strict cybersecurity practices, you can feel more secure in your decision to share your data. Companies operating in the EU must abide by strict regulations on the processing of personal data dictated by the GDPR; those who fail to comply risk incurring hefty criminal and financial penalties.

Our only official channels are:

We also work with certified dealers of our products who have their own websites. However, we do not have access to and do not process data that is provided via websites other than the four listed above.

When It Could Be Risky: Watch Out for Traps

The greatest risk occurs when information is handled carelessly, i.e. when data is sold to data-brokers who in turn sell it to other companies around the world. Be cautious when using suspicious websites with incredibly good deals. If something seems too good to be true, it is probably a scam!
Here are some signs that might indicate an website isn’t safe:

  • the URL does not contain the https security protocol.
  • The website domain does not match the brand/company name.
  • Special or sensitive data are requested.
  • Financial data is requested.
  • The website is defined by the browser as “not secure”
  • The footer does not contain an impressum and privacy link.
  • The website contains many pop-ups and banners with advertisements/spam
  • The highest quality is promised at bargain prices.

how we use your data

Your Privacy is Guaranteed: We Only Use Data in Aggregate Form

We understand the importance of privacy and are committed to maximum transparency. It’s important for us to reassure you that our marketing department handles data responsibly, employing an aggregate approach that safeguards your anonymity.

What Does “Aggregate Data” Mean?

When we say we use data in aggregate form, we mean that we analyse the information we collect together, without tracking or identifying individual users. This approach allows us to better understand overall trends, market preferences, and improve our services, without ever compromising your privacy.

Our Priority: Respecting Your Privacy

Your privacy is our top priority. We continuously strive to ensure that your data is handled with the utmost confidentially and responsibility. Rest assured, whenever we use data to improve our services, we always do so in aggregate form, preserving your anonymity and providing you with peace of mind.

Our Commitment to Your Safety

Our company prioritises maximum data security, going beyond mere compliance with regulations by adopting advanced IT security measures and ensuring full transparency. We never resell data to third parties and use it solely to enhance our services.

Why do we need your data to generate a quote?

When generating quotes, the personal data we request allows our experts to provide you with the most accurate quote possible. It also facilitates the subsequent order phase. The data we require includes:

  • your name for easier communication,
  • your email address to send quotes
  • , and your industry sector to help us understand what kind of product you might find most useful. This way, if deemed necessary, our experts can provide you with an alternative that is better suited to your needs. However, you always have the final say.
  • Your phone number is also requested so that we can rectify any email errors. Additionally, requests are often missing information required by our experts to generate accurate quotes. In this instance, we might contact you to clarify the situation quickly over the phone without sending endless emails back and forth.
  • Providing your province allows us to connect you with the nearest expert and arrange showroom visits if desired.

Optional data further improves and speeds up your experience. In fact, the more information provided to our experts, the better they will be able to advise you and, most importantly, if you do decide to make a purchase, you won’t have to provide all of your information again from scratch, saving you time.
Rest assured, we never request sensitive or financial information.

Will I receive spam emails or messages?

No unwanted newsletters will find their way into your inbox. Your email address, your choice. We understand that receiving unwanted emails can be annoying. Your peace of mind is our top priority, which is why we can guarantee that we will not send any newsletters without your explicit consent and confirmation via double opt-in.

This two-step confirmation process guarantees intentional subscription to our newsletter. After you provide your email address, we will send you a confirmation message containing a link. You must click on this link to confirm your newsletter subscription. This ensures that you have deliberately chosen to receive communications from us.

We value our customer relationships. It would be entirely counterproductive to send junk emails, and we have no reason to do so.

What do you do with my information if I don't become a customer?

The information you provided will rot in our servers. If you filled in the contact form, and decided to decline our offer, your data will remain saved in our servers, and we can only use it in an aggregated or anonymised format for internal statistics. What we can’t and don’t do is use it to contact you again in the future or sell it to third-party operators. As manufacturers and sellers of pop-up tents and beer sets, this is not part of our way of doing business. It is not in our interest to do so, and we would not make any revenue from it.

In conclusion, providing data online can be safe, but it is important to choose companies carefully. Our company is here to ensure that you can trust the process. Your security is our top priority, and we are committed to providing an online shopping experience that is not only luxurious but also safe and reliable.

To sum up, personal data helps us personalise your shopping experience. We understand your concerns and are committed to making this process as secure as possible. Your security is our top priority, and we are constantly working to ensure that you can enjoy the benefits of online personalisation without compromising your privacy.
